In June , Portland Fire and Rescue denied a permit to the club due to its incomplete renovation. On June 28, while Club Sesso was hosting an anniversary party, a fire inspector determined that the business was in violation of city code. However, fire marshal Doug Jones, who was not on duty that evening, intervened and overruled the inspector's ruling, saying "that there would be no repercussions from the Fire Bureau as a result of the lack of permits". He said of the club's closure, "Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, and the continual and substantial nonlitigation legal fees during the past year, and our inability to reach reasonable agreements with the various government agencies involved, Club Sesso is no longer able to stay in business.

Christian Swingers? Even Progressive Pastors Are Shocked
An illegal party at a swingers club that led to a reprimand for a Portland fire official now appears to have spelled the end for the venue, too. Ron Jeremy's Club Sesso said Friday that it would close as of this weekend, citing legal troubles stemming from a June incident for which Assistant Fire Marshal Doug Jones was given a letter of reprimand. When the permit -- which club owner Paul Young said had previously been routinely approved -- was denied, the club threatened to sue the city in response. But a fire inspector did show up and found the club didn't have a permit to use its upper floors, and an Oregon Liquor Control Commission inspector determined the club didn't have authorization to serve alcohol in that part of the building.

The swingometer is a rough way of measuring the switch of voters from one party to another on a national, regional or constituency basis. To find out about a particular swing percentage, drag the pointer or use the top arrow buttons at either side of the swingometer. Move the pointer to the right for a swing to the Conservatives, or left for a swing to Labour. A swing into the red of Labour, for example, is a swing for the Conservatives and against Labour and vice-versa. As the pointer moves, the swing will change, with the seats changing colour to the party gaining them.
